The Status of Artificial Intelligence Development in Iran

In 2024 and 2025, various efforts have been taken by the Iranian government in the field of AI. From the creation of an artificial intelligence platform to the establishment of an artificial intelligence organization. In addition, a guidance council has been planned to advance projects.

A national document on AI has also been written. The author believes that writing a document and establishing an organization is necessary but not sufficient because the artificial intelligence revolution is moving rapidly and is avant-garde.

This revolution is not led by traditional methods of data governance. Rather, it is unmanageable.

On the other hand, success cannot be achieved without joining the global trend of AI governance.

Participatory governance and joint investment between the countries of the Middle East, Arab and West Asia is the secret to success. Domestic efforts without this approach will not be effective. It is obvious that the development of AI in the region will exacerbate economic inequality, and Iran cannot achieve its goals by being alone and isolated.
